Mike Mitchell had 3 base hits at West Side Park where the Brooklyn Dodgers
beat the Chicago-NL Cubs by the score of 6 to 3.

Brooklyn took the lead for good in the top of the 3rd inning plating 2 runs
utilizing 2 base hits.  George Suggs got things going when he tripled.  Eddie
Collins was next to the plate, but was promptly struck out.  Doc Miller then
would ground out resulting in a run.  John Knight stepped in and he drew a
walk.  Mitchell stepped into the box and tripled scoring the final run of the
inning.  Brooklyn had 13 hits for the afternoon.  

Suggs(3-2) picked up the victory, allowing 3 runs in 7 and 2/3 innings. Suggs
was helped out by Harry McIntire who recorded his 5th save.  The losing
pitcher was Russ Ford(7-2).  He was knocked around by Brooklyn, allowing 11
hits and 2 walks in 7 innings.
