In a dramatic ending the Philadelphia-AL Athletics staged a comeback and held
on to win over the Cincinnati Reds by the count of 4 to 3.

Philadelphia-AL had the game winning rally in the top of the 9th inning
scoring 2 runs on 3 hits.  Chick Gandil started the inning off right when he
ripped a one-base hit.  Art Fletcher followed next and he ripped a
base-knock.  After another out, John Titus then hit a deep fly which plated a
run.  Eddie Murphy was up next and he ripped a single scoring the final run
of the inning.  Philadelphia-AL had 10 hits for the afternoon.  

The win went to Ray Collins(1-4) who allowed 2 runs in 8 innings. Rube Foster
gained credit for his 1st save.  Babe Adams(2-5) was the loser in relief.
