Second baseman Jackie Robinson had 4 hits and 3 RBI as the Cincinnati Reds
outscored the Boston Red Sox in 10 innings 6 to 5.

Both teams had scored 5 runs after nine full innings.  Cincinnati won it in
the 10th inning.  Robinson drew a walk.  One out later, Larry Doby dug into
the batters box next, but he struck out.  Eddie Robinson then delivered a
single making Cincinnati the victors to the delight of the home town
faithful.  For the game Cincinnati out-hit Boston 12 to 6.  

Ted Wilks(1-0) went 1 inning allowing no runs for the victory. The losing
pitcher was Jack Banta(1-2) in relief.  Cincinnati now has a record of 13-11.
With this loss, Boston has a 4-6 record of late, 10-14 overall.
