In a wild and wooly game at Union Grounds, the Boston Reds finally topped the
St. Louis Maroons by the score of 12 to 10 in 10 inning.

Both teams were tied at 10 runs apiece after nine innings.  Boston won the
game in the 10th inning.  Walter Hackett kicked off the action when he laced
a single.  Hackett was running on the next pitch and he stole second.  After
an out was recorded, Clarence Dow then reached on an error which scored a
run.  Tim Murnane was up next and he delivered a single.  Tom O'Brien stepped
into the box and lined a one-base hit scoring the final run of the inning.
The score went back-and-forth with the lead changing 5 times.  

Ed Crane(1-0) got credit for the victory, pitching 2 innings and allowing 3
runs. Charlie Hodnett(6-2) was the losing pitcher.  Boston knocked him around
a bit, as he gave up 12 runs in 10 innings.
