The Boston-AL Red Sox had an easy time of it at Huntington Ave Grnds defeating the Detroit Tigers by a score of 9 to 3. Max Carey had a big day at the plate. He tripled plating two runs in the 2nd inning, belted a three-run homer in the 7th inning and stroked a base-hit in the 8th inning. Both teams ended up with 10 hits on the afternoon. The win went to Ed Willett(1-0) who allowed 2 runs in 6 and 2/3 innings. Willett got relief help from Doc Crandall who gained credit for his 1st save. Earl Hamilton(3-1) took the loss.
