Athletics beat the Cincinnati Reds in 12 innings by a score of 9 to 4.

The score was tied at 3 after nine.  Philadelphia-AL ended up winning it in
the 12th inning.  The crucial at-bat was provided by Frank Schulte who
silenced Palace of the Fans as he ripped a one-base hit bringing home two
baserunners.  Philadelphia-AL rapped out 11 hits for the afternoon.  

Buck O'Brien(1-0) picked up the victory, allowing 1 run in 2 innings. Ray
Fisher(1-3) was the losing pitcher in relief.  He was hit hard and gave up 5
hits and 2 walks in 2 innings.
