Johnson(8-1) gave Washington a solid outing. He was stingy on the mound, allowing just 6 hits and 6 walks in 9 innings. Neither team managed to score after the 4th inning. George Mullin(2-6) was the losing pitcher. The Washington fans were thrilled by the performance put forth by Johnson, but it was clearly his strikeouts that they enjoyed most.
