Shortstop Eddie Joost launched 2 homeruns and had 3 RBI as the Cleveland
Indians topped the Washington Nationals by a score of 8 to 6 at Municipal
Stadium.

Joost enjoyed a big day at the plate.  He bombed a two-run dinger in the 2nd
inning and smashed a solo-shot out of the park in the 4th inning.  Washington
threatened in the 9th but Cleveland was able to put down the rally.  

Howie Fox(2-0) was the winner allowing 5 runs in 8 innings. Fred Martin
preserved the game for Fox, recording his his 12th save.  Warren Spahn(4-3)
ended up with the loss.  He served up 3 homeruns in his 4 innings.  

'We lose our concentration for one pitch, and we lose the game.' Gordy Renaud
said after the game.  'Maybe now these guys will listen when I say they have
to concentrate on EVERY pitch.'
