First baseman Lip Pike hit 3 doubles and had 3 RBI and John McMullin went the
distance as the Troy Haymakers defeated the Washington Olympics 19 to 13 at
Haymakers' Grounds.

Pike enjoyed a fine day at the plate.  He doubled plating two runs in the 1st
inning, doubled in the 5th inning and doubled in the 6th inning.  Troy bats
were very productive in the 1st inning with 7 runs on 7 hits and the 6th
inning plating 4 runs.  The Troy offense man-handled the Washington pitching
staff as they scored in 7 of the 9 innings.  

McMullin(3-1) was the winner allowing 13 runs for the game. Asa Brainard(3-5)
took the loss.  By giving up 19 runs in 8 innings his ERA increased from 3.30
to 3.84.
