Al Atkinson had a complete game and Fred Corey had 2 base hits and 4 RBI at
Jefferson St Grounds as the red-hot Philadelphia Athletics beat the
floundering Pittsburgh Alleghenys by the count of 7 to 4.

Atkinson(6-1) looked very much in control throughout the day.  He allowed only
7 hits and no walks in 9 innings.  Philadelphia rapped out 13 hits for the
afternoon.  

Fleury Sullivan(1-5) was the losing pitcher.  He saw his ERA jump from 3.10 to
3.68 as gave up 7 runs in 8 innings.  With the win, Philadelphia continued
their winning ways; their streak now stands at 7 games and counting.
