Henry Gruber was able to finish what he started and was credited with a
complete game at Forepaugh Park where the Cleveland Infants beat the
Philadelphia Athletics by the score of 16 to 15.

Cleveland took the lead off Phil Knell in the first inning as they creamed
Philadelphia blasting them with 8 runs on 5 hits. The critical plate
appearance was by Patsy Tebeau who deflated the spirits of the home town
crowd when he ripped a one-base hit bringing in two baserunners. Cleveland
provided plenty of action in the 1st inning which saw them score 8 runs on 5
hits. Philadelphia scored in 5 different innings, but their shaky pitching
kept them from victory.

Gruber(5-2) got the victory, allowing 15 runs for the game. Knell(1-3) was the
loser. He was knocked around by Cleveland, allowing 17 hits and 5 walks in 9
innings.
