Bob Caruthers pitched 9 strong innings as the blistering-hot Brooklyn
Bridegrooms defeated the ice-cold Kansas City Cowboys by the score of 3 to 1
at Washington Park.

Caruthers(6-3) was simply too much for the Kansas City batters. He didn't
give up much, just 5 hits and 1 walk in 9 innings lowering his ERA from 2.53
to 2.27. Brooklyn had a total of 8 hits for the game.

Steve Toole(0-7) was the loser. This win by Brooklyn continues their recent
hot streak. In their last ten games, they have a record of 9-1. For the
season, they are 18-10. Sam Barkley was unhappy with his club's recent
performance. 'We can't keep losing games' he said. 'It gets to be
embarrassing after a while.'
