TEAM RISP- Peppers: 0 for 10 Terriers: 8 for 17

Doc Crandall went 9 solid innings and second baseman Bobby Vaughn had 4 hits
and scored 3 times as the St. Louis Terriers man-handled the Newark Peppers -
the final score was 11 to 0.

Newark fell behind quickly as the St. Louis offense came through in the first
inning scoring one runner on 2 base hits. That early run support was enough
for Crandall(3-0) and St. Louis. Neither team managed to score after the 4th
inning.

George Mullin(0-4) was the loser. St. Louis knocked him around a bit, as he
gave up 11 runs in 8 innings. 'Crandall was the man today,' Fielder Jones
said. 'He had just about every pitch working.'
