At Yankee Stadium, the New York-AL fans witnessed a great pitcher's duel. Joe
Nuxhall(3-3) finally bested his New York-AL opposite, Jim Wilson(2-4), by the
score of 3 to 1.

Nuxhall pitched well for Cincinnati in their victory. He went 7 innings and
surrended up 6 hits and 1 walk reducing his ERA from 4.01 to 3.68. Neither
team was able to score until the 7th inning.

Don Bessent was credited with his 9th save. Wilson ended up with the loss.
He gave up only 4 hits and 1 walk in 7 innings.

In another of a string of victories, Cincinnati extended their winning streak
to 6 games. Rob Hickok was clearly happy after the game -- 'Everything is
clicking for us right now.'
