26,354 fans were treated to a fine game at Municipal Stadium as only one run
separated the combatants at game's end.  The Kansas City Athletics won by the
slimmest of margins, 3 to 2.

The score was knotted at 2 after nine innings. Kansas City ended up winning it
in the 10th inning.  After two outs Mickey Mantle drew a walk.  Gil Hodges
came next and he lashed a single.  Ken Boyer then drew a walk to load the
bases.  Wally Moon followed next and he drew a walk making Kansas City
victorious to the delight of the the home town crowd.  Kansas City managed 8
hits in their victory.  

The win was credited to Gerry Staley(2-1) who went 1 inning allowing no runs.
The loss was charged to Jack Harshman(4-2) in relief.  

The Kansas City ballclub's record now stands at 15-27.  Pittsburgh has a
record of 16-10 after the loss.
