Sadie Houck had 3 base hits and 4 RBI and Al Atkinson pitched a complete game
as the Philadelphia Athletics bested the Pittsburgh Alleghenys 11 to 5 at
Jefferson St Grounds.

Philadelphia started with a bang, jumping out to an early lead in their half
of the first as they scored 2 runs on 3 base hits.  Philadelphia finished
with 18 hits in the victory.  

The win was credited to Atkinson(7-1) who went the whole way allowing 5 runs.
The loss was charged to John Fox(0-6).  He surrendered 11 runs in 8 innings
and saw his ERA increase from 1.69 to 2.41.
