It seemed that New York pitching was serving up softballs for Kerins to hit. He lined a one-base hit in the 1st inning, smashed a two-run homer in the 2nd inning, clubbed a three-run home run in the 3rd inning and singled in the 6th inning. Louisville provided plenty of action in the 1st inning when they had 4 runs on 4 hits, the 3rd inning which saw them plate 5 runs on 6 hits and the 6th inning which saw them score 4 runs on 4 hits. Louisville had many opportunities throughout the game and scored in 6 separate innings. The win went to Baker(7-4) who allowed 7 runs in the game. Doug Crothers(0-3) was charged with the loss. He gave up 11 runs in 2 and 2/3 innings of work. With this win, Louisville has a 14-12 record. They have been 5-5 lately. New York continued their losing ways and their record is now 5-21, worst in the league. They are 1-9 in their last ten games.
