Henry Boyle allowed Horace Fogel to rest his bullpen, tossing a complete game
as the Indianapolis Hoosiers bested the Boston Beaneaters 5 to 3 at South End
Grounds.

In the top of the 5th inning Indianapolis scored 2 runs.  The critical plate
appearance was by Jerry Denny who quieted the crowd when he smashed a two-run
homer.  Indianapolis managed 8 hits in their victory.  

Boyle(5-3) got the victory, allowing 3 runs for the game. Dick Conway(1-1)
suffered the loss.  He gave up 5 runs and 8 hits in 9 innings.
