The Pittsburgh Pirates toppled the Chicago-NL Cubs by a 6 to 2 score at West
Side Park.

Hooks Dauss(6-2) pitched well for Pittsburgh in their victory. He surrendered
6 hits and no walks in 7 innings.  Pittsburgh had 10 hits for the afternoon
while Chicago-NL had 6.  

Eddie Plank(0-5) was hit with the loss.  He was a hard-luck loser, pitching 5
innings and not allowing an earned run.  

Wth the win Pittsburgh now has a record of a division leading 27-17.  With the
loss, the Chicago-NL ballclub's record is 14-18.
