Cliff Fannin took a no-hitter into the 7th inning as the Cleveland Indians
defeated the St. Louis Cardinals by a score of 4 to 0 at Cleveland
Stadium.

Fannin(3-1) pitched one of his finer games as he simply was too much for the
St. Louis batters. He allowed just 1 hit and 5 walks in 9 innings lowering
his ERA from 4.68 to 3.44. The right-handed Fannin lost his chance for a
no-hitter when Eddie Yost singled with two outs in the 7th inning. Cleveland
finished with 10 hits in the victory.

Joe Dobson(0-5) ended up with the loss. He gave up 7 hits and 1 walk in 7
innings.
