First baseman Stan Musial smashed 3 homeruns and had 5 RBI at Ebbets Field where the Brooklyn Dodgers beat the Cleveland Indians by the score of 7 to 5. Musial had a great day at the plate. He had the crowd cheering his every move. He lofted a solo-blast 'downtown' in the 1st inning, launched a three-run homer in the 3rd inning and hit a bases-empty home run in the 5th inning. Brooklyn banged out 9 hits on the afternoon. Luis Arroyo(2-3) got credit for the victory, pitching 5 innings and allowing 2 runs. Ray Narleski got the save, his 8th. George Susce(1-2) was hit with the loss. He gave up 6 runs in 4 innings and saw his ERA jump from 1.13 to 2.89. 'I've spent a lot of time in the cage and made some adjustments and they've paid off,' Musial said. 'I just take the same approach up there. I don't overanalyze it. I go up there, see the ball and try to put a good swing on it.'
