Bill Sweeney had a complete game as the Baltimore Monumentals topped the
Chicago-Pittsbg Stogies by a score of 6 to 4 at South Side Park.

Baltimore won the game with a rally in the 8th inning with 2 runs. Sweeney
led off the inning for Baltimore when he stroked a single. Hugh Daily then
had one get away for a wild pitch. Dick Phelan then reached on an error
bringing in a run. One out later, Henry Oberbeck stepped in and he hit a
deep fly scoring the final run of the inning. This was a game of many highs
and lows for the home town fans, as the lead kept changing - 5 times in all.

Sweeney(9-5) got the victory, allowing 4 runs for the game. Daily(7-7) was
charged with the loss. He was a hard-luck loser as he did not allow an
earned run in his 9 innings of work.
