Dan Casey tossed a fine 6 hitter at South End Grounds as the Philadelphia
Quakers beat the Boston Beaneaters in 12 innings 3 to 2.

The score was tied at 2 after nine.  Finally, Philadelphia prevailed in the
12th inning.  Joe Mulvey slapped a base-hit, and an error was also committed.
Sid Farrar next to the plate and he would hit into a fielders choice scoring
the run.  The game was a scoreless duel until the 6th inning.  

Casey(3-3) got the victory, allowing 2 runs for the game. John Clarkson(5-8)
was hit with the loss.  He was the victim of a defensive lapse and did not
allow an earned run in the game.  

'Our guys just weren't seeing the ball today.' John Morrill said.  'Casey
simply dominated us.'
