Lee Viau went the distance as the Cleveland Spiders defeated the Brooklyn
Grooms 12 to 7 at League Park.
Brooklyn was unable to climb back into it after Cleveland went ahead for good
in the bottom of the 2nd inning when they scored 3 runs on 1 hit. Cleveland
won despite being out-hit by Brooklyn 15 hits to 10.
Viau(9-1) lasted until the end allowing 7 runs for the win. Tom Lovett(6-5)
was given the loss. He was knocked around pretty good, giving up 12 runs in
8 innings.
