George Mullin was able to finish what he started and was credited with a
complete game as the Detroit Tigers outscored the Washington Nationals 9 to
2.

Detroit went ahead for good in the bottom of the 5th inning when they scored 3
runs on 2 hits.  Detroit rapped out 10 hits for the afternoon.  

The winning pitcher was Mullin(6-0) who allowed 2 runs for the game. Bob
Groom(1-4) was charged with the loss.  His ERA increased from 2.66 to 3.50 as
he allowed 7 runs in 6 and 2/3 innings.
