Center fielder Sam Crawford had 3 base hits as the Boston-NL Braves defeated
the New York-NL Giants 7 to 1 at Polo Grounds.

Boston-NL took the lead for keeps in the top of the 4th inning as they scored
2 runs on 2 base hits.  The big moment was provided by Harry Steinfeldt who
silenced Polo Grounds as he doubled bringing home two baserunners.  Overall
Boston-NL out-hit New York-NL 11 to 5.  

The victory went to Jim Scott(1-3) who went 6 and 2/3 innings, allowing 1 run.
Jack Quinn(1-2) took the loss.  He pitched 7 innings and surrendered 8 hits
and 4 walks.
