Nig Clarke had 4 hits and 3 RBI as the St. Louis Browns defeated the Boston
Red Sox by a score of 14 to 5 at Sportsman's Park.
St. Louis took the lead for good in the bottom of the 2nd inning as they
scored 4 runs on 5 base hits. St. Louis kept the scorekeepers busy in the
2nd inning which saw them plate 4 runs on 5 hits and the 3rd inning which saw
them score 8 runs on 7 hits. St. Louis finished with 20 hits while Boston
ended up with 11.
The victory was credited to Jack Powell(9-1) who went 8 and 2/3 innings,
allowing 5 runs. Marty McHale(0-1) was hit with the loss. He was unable to
control the St. Louis offense and allowed 13 hits and 3 walks in 2 and 2/3
innings.
