The Detroit Tigers edged the Pittsburgh Pirates at Navin Field by the score of
6 to 5.

Detroit erupted with the game winning runs in the bottom of the 8th inning
plating 2 runs on 3 hits. After an out was recorded, Arnold Hauser
jump-started the rally as he stroked a single. Ray Chapman next to the plate
and he slapped a base-hit. Vin Campbell then slapped a one-base hit plating
a run. Campbell took second on the throw. Johnny Evers came up and he was
walked intentionally to load the bases. Zack Wheat came up to bat and hit a
sacrifice fly scoring the final run of the inning. This was a game of many
highs and lows for the home town fans, as the lead kept changing - 5 times in
all.

Hub Perdue(4-3) went 1 and 2/3 innings allowing 2 runs for the win. Wilbur
Cooper recorded the save, his 3rd. Vean Gregg(1-5) took the loss in relief.
