Bob Bescher rocketed 2 homeruns and had 4 RBI and Rube Benton pitched a
complete game as the Cincinnati Reds defeated the Pittsburgh Pirates 8 to 2
at Redland Field.

The home town fans were very appreciative of the fine hitting performance
provided by Bescher.  He cracked a solo homerun in the 1st inning and smacked
a three-run homer in the 2nd inning.  Cincinnati rapped out 14 hits for the
afternoon.  

Benton(4-4) allowed 2 runs on the game. Babe Adams(7-2) suffered the loss.
Cincinnati now has a record of 19-16.  With the loss, the Pittsburgh
ballclub's record is 17-18.
