In a one-sided affiar at Ebbets Field the final score was the Cleveland

Dave Philley led the offense for Cleveland.  He stroked a base-hit in the 1st
inning, doubled in the 2nd inning and clubbed a three-run home run in the 9th
inning.  Cleveland dominated offensively as they scored in 6 different
innings.  

The victory was credited to Hoyt Wilhelm(6-0) who went 3 and 2/3 innings,
allowing no runs. Allie Reynolds(0-4) was hit with the loss in relief.  He
pitched 1/3 of an inning allowing 1 hit and 2 walks.
