Worcester had the winning rally in the 9th inning with 3 runs using 2 hits. Arthur Irwin got things going when he ripped a single. Hick Carpenter followed and he drew a walk. Pete Hotaling then reached on an error resulting in a run. Fred Corey came up and he reached on an error plating another run. George Creamer stepped into the box and laid down a sacrifice bunt. Doc Bushong added to the outburst and stroked a one-base hit scoring the final run of the inning. Cleveland scored in 5 different innings, but their shaky pitching kept them from victory. Lee Richmond(5-10) went 8 innings allowing 10 runs for the victory. Billy Taylor gained credit for his 1st save. Jim McCormick(6-7) was given the loss. He was not very effective, surrendering 11 runs in 8 and 2/3 innings. Mike Dorgan was all smiles after the game, 'To pull a game out in your last at bats, is a beautiful feeling - and did you see how quiet it got out there? You could have heard a pin drop when we took the lead. But, hey, that's what makes baseball so great - as the great sage Yogi Berra says, 'it's not over 'til its over.'
