Joe Tinker had 2 base hits and 2 RBI and Jock Menefee allowed Frank Selee to
rest his bullpen, tossing a complete game as the Chicago Orphans defeated the
slumping St. Louis Cardinals 8 to 4 at Robison Field.

Menefee(2-2) earned his pay with a solid performance for Chicago.  He was
reached for 12 hits and 2 walks in 9 innings lowering his ERA to 4.50.  St.
Louis made it exciting in the 9th, but they were unable to push the needed
runs across.  

Stan Yerkes(3-7) was the losing pitcher.  He was touched for 14 hits and 3
walks in 7 and 1/3 innings.  Chicago continued their winning ways, with their
streak now at 6 games and counting.
