Harry Davis had 3 base hits and 3 RBI at Columbia Park where the Philadelphia
Athletics beat the St. Louis Browns in 11 innings by the score of 9 to
8.

The score was knotted at 7 after nine innings.  Finally, Philadelphia pulled
the game out in the 11th inning.  Harry Armbruster led off and he smacked a
single.  John Knight next to the plate and he drew a walk.  Davis then
stroked a single which scored a run.  Davis took second on the throw.  After
an out was recorded, Danny Murphy came to bat and was walked intentionally to
load the bases.  Monte Cross came up to bat and slapped a base-hit giving
Philadelphia the victory and sending the 12,876 home-town fans home happy.
Philadelphia banged out 15 hits on the afternoon.  

The winning pitcher was Mike Cunningham(3-0) who allowed 1 run in 1 inning.
Beany Jacobson(4-4) was charged with the loss in relief.
