In a dramatic ending the Boston-NL Braves staged a comeback and held on to win
over the Boston-AL Red Sox by the count of 5 to 4.
The game was won by Boston-NL when they scored a run in the top of the 8th
inning. After an out was recorded, Frank Smith doubled. Al Schweitzer
followed next and he hit a single scoring the run. Boston-NL ended up with
11 hits for the game while Boston-AL had 8.
The victory went to Smith(5-1) who went 8 innings, allowing 1 run. Rube
Waddell(1-4) was the losing pitcher. He pitched 7 and 1/3 innings and
