hits and 4 RBI at Bennett Park where the Washington Nationals beat the
Detroit Tigers 9 to 8.

Washington had 5 runs cross the plate in the 7th inning with the help of 5
hits.  The highlight belonged to McBride who silenced the stadium when he
slapped a single plating two runs.  Washington totaled 15 hits on the
afternoon.  

The winning pitcher was Gray(3-3) who allowed 8 runs for the game. George
Suggs(2-2) was the losing pitcher.  He gave up 7 runs in 6 and 2/3 innings of
work.  

Washington now has a record of 12-19.  With this loss, Detroit has a 6-4
