Bobby Shantz finished beautifully at Fenway Park as the Philadelphia Phillies
beat the Boston Red Sox by the count of 4 to 3.
Philadelphia scored the deciding run in the 8th inning. Sherm Lollar lined a
single. Phil Rizzuto followed and he laid down a sacrifice bunt. Nellie Fox
then banged out a single scoring the run. Fox took second on the throw.
Shantz relieved and was untouched by Boston as he recorded the save, his 2nd.
Murry Dickson(2-1) got the win allowing 1 run in 2 innings. Jack Banta(1-2)
was the loser in relief. He surrendered 4 hits and 1 walk in 3 innings.
