TEAM RISP- Grays: 1 for 5 Browns: 19 for 38

Bob Caruthers pitched a complete game and first baseman Charlie Comiskey had 4
hits at Sportsman's Park as the St. Louis Browns, running on all cylinders,
ripped the Brooklyn Grays by a large 29 to 1 margin.

Comiskey was spectacular at the plate. The hometown fans showed their
appreciation with a standing ovation his last time at bat. He ripped a
base-knock which scored a run in the 2nd inning, doubled plating three runs
in the 3rd inning, stroked a single knocking in a run in the 5th inning and
brought the hometown folks to their feet with a Grand Slammer in the 7th
inning. St. Louis bats were very productive in the 1st inning when they had
4 runs on 3 hits, the 2nd inning when they had 4 runs on 4 hits and the 7th
inning when they had 9 runs on 7 hits. The St. Louis offense was as
consistent as it was powerful. They scored in every inning, making a joke of
the Brooklyn pitching.

The victory was credited to Caruthers(9-3) who went the distance, allowing 1
run. Adonis Terry(3-6) was the loser. He was knocked around, surrendering 11
runs in 2 and 2/3 innings.
