The score was knotted at 6 after nine innings. St. Louis came out on top in the 10th inning. After an out was recorded, Comiskey doubled. John McCarty then tossed a pitch that the catcher mis-handled. One out later, Charlie Duffee was walked intentionally. Shorty Fuller was up next and he lashed a single making St. Louis the victor and beginning a joyous home town celebration. St. Louis rapped out 10 hits for the afternoon. Devlin(3-3) got the victory, allowing 6 runs for the game. The losing pitcher was McCarty(5-5). Everyone seemed to enjoy the performance of Devlin - except Kansas City. Bill Watkins lamented, 'He just was 'on' this afternoon. He was keeping our guys off balance all game. A fine game by a good strikeout pitcher - makes it a fun game for the hometown fans - unfortunately we were the visitors!'
