Ed Beatin completed the game without help from the bullpen at Washington Park
as the Cleveland Spiders beat the Brooklyn Bridegrooms by the count of 6 to
2.

Cleveland erupted with the game winning runs in the top of the 9th inning when
they scored 4 runs on 2 hits. The key offensive moment was provided by
Beatin who deflated the mood of the partisan fans when he laced a one-base
hit bringing home two baserunners. Cleveland managed only 6 hits on the
afternoon.

The winning pitcher was Beatin(5-7) who allowed 2 runs for the game. Tom
Lovett(2-1) was tagged with the loss. He pitched 9 innings giving up 6 hits
and 6 walks.
