Bert Inks pitched a complete game at Eastern Park as the Brooklyn Grooms won a
thriller over the St. Louis Browns in, 7 to 6.

The game was decided in the bottom of the 9th inning.  Monte Ward reached on
an error.  Bill Joyce stepped up next and he doubled giving Brooklyn the win
and sending the home town fans into a frenzy.  Brooklyn totaled 12 hits on
the afternoon.  

The win went to Inks(3-3) who allowed 6 runs in the game. Kid Gleason(6-5) was
the loser.  He was hit hard and gave up 12 hits and 3 walks in 8 innings.
