Duke Farrell went deep and had 4 RBI and Jouett Meekin pitched a complete game
as the New York Giants staged a dramatic comeback over the Cleveland Spiders
by a score of 7 to 6 at Polo Grounds.

New York won the game with a rally in the bottom of the 9th inning as they
scored 4 runs on 4 base hits. The crucial at-bat was provided by Farrell who
electrified Polo Grounds when he doubled bringing home two baserunners. New
York managed 11 hits in their victory.

Meekin(7-3) picked up the complete game victory, allowing 6 runs. Cy
Young(4-6) was the loser. Arthur Irwin was ebullient after the game, 'It's
great to win a hard fought game like that. Our guys just weren't going to be
denied. And did you see the fans - they were going wild! Yes sir, a very
enjoyable win this afternoon!'
