Billy Hamilton collected 2 extra-base hits and Jack Stivetts tossed a complete
game at South End Grounds as the Boston Beaneaters beat the Pittsburg Pirates
by the count of 8 to 3.

Boston drew first blood jumping out to an early lead in the first inning
plating an isolated run.  Boston had 12 hits for the afternoon.  

The winning pitcher was Stivetts(2-8) who allowed 3 runs for the game. The
loss was charged to Frank Killen(7-5).  He was knocked around by Boston,
allowing 12 hits and 2 walks in 8 innings.
