The game was deadlocked at 1 after nine full innings.  Chicago-NL won the hard
fought contest in the 13th inning.  After an out was recorded, Jack Lelivelt
hit a single.  Hummel stepped into the batter's box and he lined a one-base
hit.  Rube Oldring was the next batter, but he struck out.  Chief Meyers
stepped in and he reached on an error.  Ham Hyatt came to the plate and
banged out a single making Chicago-NL the victor and beginning a joyous home
town celebration.  Chicago-NL had a total of 12 hits for the game.  

The winning pitcher was Cliff Curtis(1-0) who allowed no runs in 1 inning.
Chick Brandom(3-2) was charged with the loss in relief.
