Bill Abstein had 2 base hits and Vic Willis was able to finish what he started
and was credited with a complete game as the Pittsburgh Pirates defeated the
Boston Doves 3 to 1 at South End Grounds.

The game was decided in the 8th inning.  After two were out Chief Wilson drew
a walk.  Wilson was safe at second on a stolen base.  George Gibson then was
walked intentionally.  Willis followed next and he stroked a one-base hit
scoring the run.  Pittsburgh managed 9 hits in their victory.  

The win went to Willis(4-3) who allowed 1 run in the game. Vive Lindaman(0-4)
was given the loss.  He gave up 9 hits and 7 walks in 9 innings.
