WEB GEMS- Bot 2nd: George Jackson robbed Fred Luderus of an extra base hit.

Ad Brennan allowed Red Dooin to rest his bullpen, tossing a complete game and
Dooin had 2 base hits and 3 RBI at Baker Bowl where the Philadelphia Phillies
beat the Boston Braves 14 to 8.

Philadelphia drew first blood jumping out to an early lead in the first inning
showing no mercy on Boston as they plated 7 runs on 5 hits. Boston was not
lacking for run support as they scored in 5 separate innings, yet victory
eluded them as they seemed to forget that pitching is also needed to win
ballgames.

The win was credited to Brennan(6-1) who went the whole way allowing 8 runs.
Lefty Tyler(0-6) took the loss. He surrendered 14 runs in 7 innings and saw
his ERA increase from 4.05 to 5.52.
