Ty Cobb had 4 hits and 5 RBI as the New York-NL Giants beat the Brooklyn
Dodgers by a score of 8 to 6.

Cobb made sure the New York-NL fans enjoyed themselves. He laced a one-base
hit which brought home a run in the 2nd inning, slapped a single in the 5th
inning, laced a base-hit which was good for two runs in the 6th inning and
tripled bringing in two baserunners in the 7th inning. Brooklyn tried
unsuccessfully to come back in the 9th.

The victory was credited to Bob Shawkey(2-2) who went 7 innings, allowing 4
runs. Earl Moseley(4-3) was the loser in relief. New York-NL scored big
getting 4 runs off him in 2 innings.

Brian Capsello was in a talkative mood in the clubhouse, 'Great game! If only
we could win all of the close ones - wouldn't that be nice! Since that's not
going to happen, I think I'll savor this one for a little while.'
