Reds defeated the New York-AL Yankees by a score of 12 to 3 at Yankee
Stadium.

The game started off with Cincinnati taking the lead in the first plating one
baserunner on 2 hits.  Overall Cincinnati out-hit New York-AL 14 to 9.  

Bob Porterfield(5-0) got credit for the victory, pitching 7 and 1/3 innings
and allowing 3 runs. Dean Stone(5-2) was the losing pitcher.  Cincinnati
scored big getting 6 runs off him in 3 innings.
