Sam Weaver tossed a complete game as the Milwaukee Grays(M) staged a dramatic
comeback over the Providence Grays(P) by a score of 6 to 5 at Messer St
Grounds.

Milwaukee scored the winning runs in the 9th inning with 2 runs. George
Creamer led off and keyed the rally when he slapped a base-hit. Fred Corey
then threw a high and inside pitch that got by the catcher; it was ruled a
passed ball. Abner Dalrymple then reached on an error which brought home a
run. John Peters followed next and he reached on an error. Peters got a
good lead and stole second. Jake Goodman did his part to keep things going
and hit a deep fly scoring the final run of the inning. Milwaukee had 12
hits for the afternoon.

Weaver(4-5) allowed 5 runs on the game. Corey(1-3) was given the loss. He was
hit hard and gave up 12 hits and 2 walks in 9 innings.

Corey was feeling apologetic in the locker room, 'I sure let that one get
away. What a miserable feeling to let the guys down; and our fans. One
minute things are looking great, then. BOOM, it's over with! I just hope I
get a chance to redeem myself real soon!'
