Joe Mulvey ripped 2 homeruns and had 5 RBI and Charlie Ferguson had a complete
game as the Philadelphia Quakers defeated the struggling St. Louis Maroons by
a score of 12 to 3 at Recreation Park.

Mulvey had a great day at the plate. He lined a one-base hit which was good
for two runs in the 1st inning, blasted a two-run home run in the 2nd inning,
clubbed a solo home run in the 6th inning and delivered a base-hit in the 8th
inning. Philadelphia totaled 12 hits on the afternoon.

Ferguson(7-1) lasted until the end allowing 3 runs for the win. Billy
Palmer(0-1) took the loss. He was unable to control the Philadelphia offense
and allowed 12 hits and 3 walks in 8 innings.

'It's just about getting in a good hitting position and just going out there
and being prepared,' Mulvey said. 'You try to hit in your own capacity and
not do too much. I just try to have a good approach, day after day, game by
game, and pitch by pitch.'
