Jack Chesbro completed the game without help from the bullpen as the Pittsburg
Pirates bested the New York Giants in 10 innings 4 to 3 at Exposition
Park.

The score was knotted at 3 after nine innings.  Finally, Pittsburg prevailed
in the 10th inning.  After an out was recorded, Honus Wagner delivered a
single.  Tom O'Brien followed and he doubled making Pittsburg the victor and
beginning a joyous home town celebration.  Pittsburg had 8 hits for the
afternoon.  

The victory went to Chesbro(3-3) who went the distance allowing 3 runs. Ed
Doheny(1-6) absorbed the loss.  He gave up 4 runs and 8 hits in 9 and 1/3
innings.
